Indigo Wholecloth King
This quilt is made from linen hand dyed with natural indigo. It's pieced from four whole pieces of fabric on each side with a middle layer of natural cotton batting for insulation.
The contrasting sashiko stitches are an element of function and form, showcasing the hand-stitched quilting designs and binding the three layers together. The simple running stitches radiate from the center.
Pairing Japanese cotton thread with indigo is a traditional and timeless look.
This quilt is almost 91 inches x 111 inches and required about 135 hours to complete.
It would fit on top of a king size bed but could also be used on a queen with some overhang. I'm also happy to sew in a mounting sleeve so that it could be hung vertically as a wall tapestry.
Arrives in a handmade, cedar box with a laser-etched logo.
