The starlings travel together in a swarm making formations in flight, expanding and contracting, twisting and turning like a dance. They take flight together and land together.
This quilt was made with 100% linen naturally dyed with iron (gray) and logwood (soft purple) The gray background color highlight the subtle shifts of saturation like the winder birds swaying with the wind.
Hand quilted with Japanese sashiko thread naturally dyed with iron to match the quilt. Finished with a double binding in linen, and backed with a hand-dyed whole cloth of linen.
This is a smaller quilt that would be beautiful hung on a wall or used as an accent on a bed or couch.
