Pine Cone Star
An overall design of sixteen four-point-stars with center squares turned on point. Each star point is made by joining tiny triangles of contrasting light and dark indigo blues. A secondary design occurs from the background of each star joining together, forming a circular patterns that stands out because the depth of color carries visual weight. The background, or negative space, is cotton fabric printed with a polkadot pattern, made with a resist paste on natural indigo. There are natural variants of color in the organic dye process creating a truly unique one-of-a-kind artwork.
