New York Quilt

As a young artist, fresh out of art school, I lived in Philadelphia, while many of my close friends lived in New York City. I would often take a bus to visit my fiends in NYC, and every time, at first glance of the skyline, I felt an overwhelming feeling - full of energy and enthusiasm - for a city so vibrant!  

Each star in this quilt has a unique color-way - no two are alike. The 25 stars are assembled by hand and pieced together with a sewing machine. Once assembled, the quilt top it layered with an all wool batting, and backed with soft black cotton fabric that matches the front of the quilt. 

This quilt is finished with hand-quilted rows of tiny black stitches traveling from side-to-side. The quilt took over 300 hours of work to complete - made over a span of a few slow, beautiful years while raising a young and vibrant child.

Perfect size as an accent for a bed, as a throw quilt, or displayed on a wall.

The quilt is shipped in a custom keepsake pine box.
